Dear HHS Community,
I hope you and your families are well. I’m struck each day that the mornings feel quite empty not being able to greet our students at the front door! Hang in there, take care of each other (from afar), laugh, exercise and be well!
Please continue to reach out to me if there is information I can share with our community and/or answers to questions that would be helpful. Answers to some frequently asked questions:
April Break is happening as scheduled 4/13 - 4/17.
Schoology, like many other platforms, has seen a dramatic increase in users with the shutdown and this has led to instability. As of this morning (4/3), Schoology has completed a large platform separation to provide enterprise users (that’s us!) with its own processing capabilities. This is welcome news and should provide much needed stability in the immediate future. Currently “reminders” are still disabled on student’s homepages, however the Google API has been restored. This is welcome Friday news! Continued appreciation from us in tech for your continued support of our students as we build the ship we are sailing. Keep those tickets coming at firstname.lastname@example.org! Stay healthy!!
The school year will not be extended and we anticipate learning more from Governor Sununu about how the rest of the year will be used.
Grading - the SAU 70 Leadership team (headed by Dr Badams) and the HHS Staff are evaluating all options regarding 4th quarter grading. I will keep you informed as this discussion moves forward. Many schools, colleges and universities are moving to a credit/no credit system in light of the dramatically different educational environment. I anticipate additional communications on this topic next week.
I wish our entire community my best.
