Yesterday, the Governor of New Hampshire announced that K-12 public schools must hold in-person classes five days a week starting April 19. HHS has received numerous inquiries about Remote Wednesday.
This morning we reached out to Dr. Badams to get his input on this. He indicated that he has reached out to Commissioner Edelblut for a waiver. I support the request and believe we should keep the current schedule. HHS is fortunate to have 92% of our students in school 4 days per week since the beginning of the school year. Remote Wednesday enables Council and other student activities to take place, time for teachers to touch base with their students, and time for the custodial staff to deep clean. I believe the current system is working and changing the routines now may prove problematic.
The administration will be discussing this early next week and creating a plan, please stay tuned.
Have a happy, healthy and safe weekend!
