Today was a very busy day at Hanover High School and I can not thank the students, staff, and community for their patience as we worked through a COVID case at HHS. This was the first large school-impacted case since November 11th. Sixty-four students and three teachers are in quarantine because of this and all of the affected families have been notified. I remain hopeful that this is an isolated case and will continue to reach out with any updates.
To ensure the health and safety of our students and staff, we have been following CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting for our high-traffic areas and frequently touched surfaces. I can not stress the importance of adhering to the protocols and staying vigilant.
The high school staff is in the process of working out the specific pedagogical implications this presents and will continue to communicate with those affected. We also will keep the larger school community informed as necessary.
The safety of our students, employees and visitors is our top priority and want to thank you again for your patience and understanding.
Have a safe and restful weekend.
