Dear Hanover High School Community,
Yesterday’s rainy start gave way to a beautifully sunny afternoon just as a steady trickle of our graduates and their families wove their way down Hovey Lane and into the HHS parking lot. They were greeted by a long line of masked and socially-distanced HHS staff. There were tents, banners, lots of decorations, and we celebrated each graduate with a cacophonous greeting featuring a robust supply of cowbells - what event doesn't need more cowbell? Our staff DJ was spinning the hits, making sure to include selections that would raise the energy level of every generation in attendance.
As we handed each grad their yard sign and their graduation box, the surprise and excitement was palpable. There were lots of tears, some ‘selfies’, occasional confetti, and lots of dancing (well spaced across the lot). I'm proud that through the hard work of so many staff members we gave this class a special send off. I would like to especially thank our class advisors, Ms. Murray and Mr. Gentine, for their tireless efforts. Thank you, thank you, thank you to our Main Office Crew and to all of the staff who gave their afternoon and evening to this wonderful event.
And, to the class of 2020 - CONGRATULATIONS! It was wonderful to see you yesterday.
Enjoy the weekend and be well,
