Students on Stage
2020 SOS
Traditionally, the final show of the school year at HHS is the Students On Stage (SOS) production, a student selected, and organized play or musical that is directed by two seniors. Of course, a traditional theater experience is impossible this year. In response to school closure, and in recognition of the necessity of the arts during this time, the SOS directors have decided to create Students on Zoom, a weekly installment of short plays and monologues selected for their ability to be performed over Zoom.
* Historically, SOS has given students the opportunity to work on shows that contain material that may be considered controversial. Please note that this content is intended for an audience that is fourteen years old and above.
WEEK 4
This week, SOZ will be performing four monologues from “Sunday on the Rocks” by Teresa Rebeck, the show that was originally selected to be this year’s SOS production. Each actor performs a monologue as the character they were originally cast as. In addition to the monologues, the students involved in this year’s SOZ production will share their thoughts on the process of creating art in the time of Coronavirus, and what it looks like to make theater when we can’t gather in person. Finally, we wrap up with a fun surprise from the actors and directors!
